Tillie M. Baker
ROULETTE- Tillie M. Baker, of Card Creek Rd., passed away Friday (July 27, 2018) in UPMC Cole, Coudersport.
Born November 11, 1924, in Coudersport, she was a daughter of Walter and Martha Stannslaus Pransky. On June 25, 1947, in Limestone, NY, she married Bruce G. Baker, who died Aug. 4, 2017. They were married 70 years.
Tillie was a lifetime resident of the area and attended the Odin School and graduated from Coudersport High School, class of 1942.
She had been employed with the former Doll Factory, Port Allegany, was a school bus driver for Port Allegany School district, and most recently was an LPN nurse with Charles Cole Hospital, Coudersport, for 18 years, before her retirement.
She was a member of the Riverside Methodist Church of Roulette.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and was an accomplished seamstress and quilter.
Surviving are a son, Dennis G. (Netra) Baker of Roulette; two daughters, Kristine B. (Frank) Zitnik of Roulette, and Sandra J. (Jack) Goga of State College, PA; 9 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bruce "Gordon", two brothers, Anthony and George Pransky; and four sisters, Blanche Veroche, Pat Bottone, Theresa Gentile, and Steffie Buchsen.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. -1 p.m, on Monday (July 30, 2018) in the Riverside Methodist Church, Roulette, where a funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Ben Zimmerman, pastor, and Rev. J.T. Madison, pastor of the Evangelical Covenant Church, Port Allegany, co-officiating. Burial will be in Card Creek Cemetery, Roulette.
