Timothy C. SCOTT

Timothy C. SCOTT, 64, of Ulysses, PA, died Friday, July 18th, 2025 in the Comfort House of Allegany County, Wellsville, NY. 

Born September 10, 1960, in Coudersport, he was the son of Ronald M. “Bud” and Fanny M. Shook Scott. On September 5, 1981, in the Genesee Methodist Church, he married Linda M. Payne, who survives. A 1978 graduate of Northern Potter High School, he studied at University of Pittsburgh at Bradford for two and a half years. Tim was employed as a meatcutter for 43 years by Cowburn’s Market in Ulysses, Brennan’s Shursave in Ulysses, Maier’s Market in Andover, Giant in Wellsville, and Reed’s Market in Genesee. 

He served as a member of the Ulysses Borough Authority for over 30 years, including many years as chairman. Tim was actively involved as a coach for youth baseball and basketball and served as president of Ulysses Youth Baseball Association. An avid sportsman, Tim found great joy in fishing, golfing, and hunting particularly when sharing those moments with his father, brother, and family. He was a member of The Brookland Club as well as local country clubs and golf leagues. 

Surviving besides his wife, Linda, are: three children, Erica (Bret) Matteson of Whitesville, NY, Craig (Kristin) Scott of Middlebury Center, and Brian (Sara) Scott of Wynnewood; four grandchildren, Holden Matteson, Landon Matteson, Jarrett Scott, and Hailee Scott; three siblings, Rhonda (David) Foertsch of Palm City, FL, Laurel (Arthur) Kear and Ronald “Scotty” (Angela) Scott, both of Ulysses; two aunts, Rosalind Eastman of Ulysses and Jean (James) Durandetta of Cortland, OH; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents. 

A gathering to celebrate Tim’s life will be held Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the Tri-Town Fire and Ambulance Hall, 810 SR 49, Ulysses, PA beginning with a short service at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in Ulysses Cemetery.
