Virginia “Ginny” Morse, 102, of Belmont, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, in Iowa City, Iowa. She was born June 15, 1923. On June 25, 1941, she married Alton “Mosty” Morse, who predeceased her in 2000.
Ginny and Mosty welcomed their only child, Priscilla, into their family in February 1950. She was best known in Belmont for her highly sought-after pies, cookies, and cakes – often baked for local bake sales. She was a devoted wife, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, and neighbor. Her family and friends always enjoyed her sunroom filled with everyone’s favorite cookies, especially at Christmas time. It was a true cookie extravaganza!
She is survived by: her grandsons, Gregory “Rusty” (Ulana) Cronk, William B. (Kimberly) Cronk IV; great-grandchildren, Daniel (Andrea) Cronk, Jacob (Cheyenne) Cronk, William Cronk V, Avonlea Cronk, Bode Cronk, and Cosette Cronk. In addition to her beloved husband of 59 years, Mosty, she was predeceased by her loving daughter, Priscilla J. Stapleton in 2001.
Friends are invited to a Graveside service on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1 pm in Forest Hills Cemetery of Belmont. In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial donations to the Amity Rescue Squad, PO Box 62, Belmont, NY 14813. To leave online condolences please visit www.embserfuneralhome.com .
