Walter Gerald “Ike” ARNOLD, 74, of Wellsville, NY, died Monday, March 21, 2022 in the Bath VA Medical Center.
Born March 19, 1948, in Wellsville, he was the son of Oliver L. and Virginia I. Daley Arnold. On March 6, 2020, in Andover, he married Sandra L. Hotchkiss, who survives. A 1966 graduate of Wellsville High School, he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968, serving in the Vietnam War and honorably discharged in 1970. He was employed in construction by Joyce Pipeline and CTC, both of Andover. Ike was a die-hard New York Yankees fan and loved his cat, Cody. He enjoyed golfing and playing baseball when he was younger. He was a member of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702, Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 601, and Frank B. Church VFW Post #2530.
Surviving besides his wife, Sandra, are: a daughter, Brandy (Joel) Foster of Concord, NC; a grandson, Ayddan White; two step-daughters, Carol Sherwood and Carla Miller, both of Wellsville; a sister, Janice D. “Jake” Weatherby of Leesburg, FL; a brother, Robert O. (Cheryl Phillips) Arnold of Bradenton, FL; nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Vaudine R. King; and a brother, Richard “Dick” Oliver Arnold.
Friends may call at Olney-Foust Funeral Homes & Cremation, Crowell Chapel, 296 North Main Street, Wellsville, NY on Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 2:00 – 4:00 PM, with a Memorial Service following at 4:00 PM. Military Rites will be accorded by members of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702.
