William E. "Bill" Marsh

Wellsville, NY - William E. "Bill" Marsh, 76, of 4192A Bolivar Road died on Friday, November 5, 2010 at the Wellsville Manor Care Center with his family at his side. He was born March 31, 1934 in Wellsville, the son of the late Burton and Norma (Langdon) Marsh. On May 19, 1962 in Wellsville he married the former, Joan Bannister until the marriage ended in 1979.

Bill was a graduate of Wellsville High School, attended Penn State University and was a U. S. Air Force veteran of the Korean War. He was formerly employed at Hamilton's Shoe Store in Wellsville and Worthington Corporation in Wellsville, where he served as the Computer Systems Supervisor. After moving to Chuluota, Florida, to care for his parents he was employed by Publix Food Corporation for 11 years; retiring as a manager in 2008. He loved animals, especially his dog, "Tessie", camping trips with his family and adored his grandchildren. He enjoyed beer steins and wolf collectables.

He is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Sheri) Marsh of Wellsville, a daughter, Kathleen (Holgar) Kurschner of Wellsville, two grandchildren, Amber Marsh and Jeffrey Crowner, a brother, Jon "Mike" (Lynda) Marsh of Loganville, GA, a sister, Nancy (Kenneth) Pressley of Oak Hill, FL, a loving friend, Joan Marsh Hand of Wellsville as well as several nieces & nephews. He was predeceased in addition to his parents by a brother, James Marsh.

Friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Wednesday from 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm at the J. W. Embser Sons Funeral Home Inc. in Wellsville. The funeral will follow visitation at 1:00 pm in the funeral home with Pastor Dick Helms presiding. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
