Mr. Burdick was our principal at Danby Elementary School. He made things happen... Like when I went through the school cafeteria line, my hot dog roll was filled with peanut butter and jelly, because I didn't eat pork. He hired some of the best teachers, like Miss Lambiase, who brought to the classroom her own library of books, which showed me the love of reading. He was jolly, dedicated, and often subbed for teachers if they were out. If kids did well on their math quizzes and came in with a low time, he would race them on the test. He was awesome. Rest well, Mr. Burdick. You managed the only school I loved. Thank you for all you taught me. My deepest sympathy and condolences to Bob and Lori (I vaguely remember you guys from school. I'm so sorry for losing both of your parents in the same week. Huggs to you both.)

I never got to meet you but I feel as if I knew you thru the stories that I heard from Lori. You had to be Awesome Parents to have raised a very special woman that I'm glad to call my Friend & Sister.

Bob and Lori,
I know it has been many years, so sorry to hear of your Mom’s and Dad’s passing. They are part of good memories of Gunderman Road and Danby.
