June T. HURD

June T. HURD, 94, of Westfield, PA, died Monday, January 25, 2021 in her home.

Born June 16, 1926, in Clymer Township, she was the daughter of Earl and Leona Hawley Tolland.  On June 30, 1946, in Galeton, she married Charles H. Hurd, who predeceased her on January 21, 2002.  June served as Westfield Township Tax Collector for many years.  She was a member of the People’s Church of Potter Brook, Potter Brook Happy Hour Club, and served as Westfield Township Republican Committeewoman.

Surviving are:  five children, Kathleen (Alan) Bliss of Hornell, NY, Michael Hurd of Morris, OK, Diane (Paul) Bowes of Westfield, Timothy (Sandra) Hurd of Elkland, and Terry (Deborah) Hurd of Orrtanna;  14 grandchildren;  19 greatgrandchildren;  nieces and nephews.  In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by a daughter, Candace Susan Hurd;  and a sister, Reva T. Newcomb;  a granddaughter, Carrie Ann Schrader;  and a daughter-in-law, Jane Hurd.

The family will hold a private funeral at the People’s Church of Potter Brook, with the Rev. Gene Jones, Pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Mills Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the People’s Church of Potter Brook, 62 Rte. 49, Westfield, PA 16950.
